Visible Music College - Indoor Park

The existing atrium design was a passive space consisting of a series of pathways and in ground planters. The college was in need of a more active and usable space with a stage area for musical performances to accommodate events and receptions, while also acting as a "quad" for students to gather on. The new design respects the original layout by inserting flush decking and raised seating elements of ipe wood in the configuration of the existing planter voids. A few planting areas were retained to break up the space and soften the minimal material palette of concrete and ipe.
