From AIA Memphis:

An advocate for the profession, with a strong commitment to emerging professional development, Todd has balanced his award winning design practice with a long-held dedication to the AIA and schools of architecture around the country. He was inducted in the College of Fellows in 2009 for his significant contributions in design, and in that same year was named a Mississippi State University Alumni Fellow. Todd has been a leader in the profession throughout his career in active service to the AIA and the community, and frequently presents to local groups outside of the profession to advocate for smart design in areas such as sustainability, planning, preservation, and regulations/codes.

As an AIA Fellow, he has made a significant commitment to future design and community leaders by co- founding with his College of Fellows colleagues Memphis' first Emerging Professional Leadership Program. This 10-month program prepares the next generation of design leaders to serve and lead the design profession. In addition, Todd currently serves on the School of Architecture Board of Advisors for Mississippi State, and regularly appears as a guest lecturer and visiting critic to universities around the country such as Catholic University (Washington, DC), Illinois Institute of Technology, and throughout the southern region. He supports a firm culture of service and community engagement, with members of his studio serving in faculty/adjunct faculty positions, as guest critics, and volunteering in leadership positions with the AIA and the community.

Whether through his firm’s design work, as a guest lecturer, or as an advocate in the community, Todd consistently seeks to create a dialogue about design, practice and service. His work has been featured in numerous professional publications such as Residential Architect, Architectural Record, The New York Times, and Dwell. With over 100 design awards in the areas of new construction, renovation/restoration, and interiors encompassing a diverse range of project types from an intimate residential renovation to complex community preservation projects and LEED Gold work, he has proven himself as a designer. But more importantly, his dedication to the complex role an architect plays in today’s society distinguishes him as a design leader.

Todd Walker, FAIA has had a profound impact on the built environment and architectural legacy of our city, and we are proud to recognize him for his outstanding contributions.
