Cooper and Linden Apartments

This three-story mixed-use project is an infill located in the heart of midtown Memphis. With commercial space on the ground floor and six apartments above, this project provides much-needed housing for the area. Additionally, it creates a better pedestrian-friendly condition along the traditionally car-oriented corridor and helps connect the two popular entertainment districts located to the north and south of the project.

Because the project is in a historic but progressive neighborhood, a selection of modern, long-lasting materials was essential. A bright white box punched with windows sits above a series of black aluminum clad windows, giving the appearance of a floating form anchored to the site by the burnished block elevator tower and site wall. Native landscaping and new sidewalks along the street give the project a sense of place and connection to the urban fabric.
