Visible School - Midtown
Visible School trains and equips artists, technicians, ministers, and business professional in skills and character for services in the arts industries and the church. School officials want a high-impact, visible, clean, and environmentally-friendly community presence in the City of Memphis from which students and staff can easily interface with artists, outreach to the neighborhood, and impact the music, church, and business culture of the city. archimania assessed potential locations, all of which fit two general options: moving into an existing building that fit part of the need in a suitable neighborhood or creating a new design and structure on an unused property. We also conceptualized a modern structure to use as the main building, a concert venue, and studios, as well as a separate structure for housing. The design process could also be adapted to retrofit an older building.
