Shelby County - Tall Trees

A master plan for a 300-bed housing and administrative complex, designed specifically to accommodate inmate transitions between incarceration and freedom in society. This master plan had to take into consideration that one of the biggest problems re-entering ex-offenders encounter is staying removed from the environment that sent them to prison in the first place. Therefore, this plan sought to address this by planning structures that are modern, functional and secure, yet still comfortable and welcoming. Shelby County presented this project as a national model for re-entering ex-offenders. The facility would allow ex-inmates a comfortable and less challenging transition back into society.
